Wayne County employers report excellent labor relations.

  • Unionization rates of manufacturing employment are significantly lower in Wayne County (14.6%) than in the state of Ohio (23.1%) and surrounding MSA's.
  • Only twelve of the 60 (14.9%) manufacturing establishments with employment greater than 50 have unionized workforces. 
  • Manufacturing employers with less than 50 employees experience an even lower unionization rate (1.1%).  
  • 28 years have passed since the last successful private sector manufacturing union attempt. 100% of Wayne County’s unionized labor force is derived from legacy companies.
